The new Trec monitor from Current Cost offers an entry-level solution for basic day to day monitoring of standard domestic electricity supplies.  The Trec is straight forward to set up and easy to use with a battery operated transmitter and mains powered display unit.  The display is large, clear, and easy to read, showing how much electricity is being used throughout the home in both watts / kilowatts and cost per day / month.  This information is updated every six seconds.  The display unit measures 93mm x 80mm x 22mm with a display area of 61mm x 53mm.

The Trec incorporates the same C2 wireless technology as its more sophisticated stablemate, the CC128 Envi, and so is capable of receiving data from other transmitters and devices in the Current Cost range, including up to nine Individual Appliance Monitors (IAMs) which will soon be available to buy separately.

Purchasers should be advised that as an entry-level monitor, the Trec has no memory function or computer interface.  The Trec's transmitter unit has a single 12mm CT clamp and does not accept additional CT clamps for multi-phase supplies.
